"Clichés are hard to uprooot, particularly in sports and movements stemming from the urban universe which often have difficulty in emancipating themselves of their own esthetic standards. Tiring and deceiving for years of the fisheye (among others), skateboard videos do not make an exception to this rule and are all alike. All? Not now anymore. The French collective Kloudbox has finally just opened the shutters of this small world divided up to let in a big fresh draft with its documentary 'Le Skate Moderne' (The Modern Skateboard). Claiming the major influence of Raymond Depardon and his movie 'La Vie Moderne', this documentary is interested in a group of skaters who live in the most rural places in Dordogne (France), at one thousand miles of the Californian swimming pools and the original skateboard lifestyle."
