After high school, he moved to New York City, where he joined the Ray Brown Trio. His production and performance credits include work with Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Oscar Peterson, Esperanza Spalding, Roy Hargrove, The Roots, Common, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, KAYTRANADA, and J Dilla.
